Manuscript Formatting Rules
The complete manuscript should be typed 1.5 lines-spaced on one side only of good quality A4 (approximately 210 x 297 mm) or 8.5 x 11 inch US standard paper. An electronic version of the text produced in WinWordTM or Microsoft WordTM for Windows. Please use Times New Roman 12-pitch font.
Important! If the article contains additional fonts, please attach them to the article as a separate file.The article should consist of the following elements arranged in a sequential order:
- Last names and initials pf the authors
- Information about the authors (the names of the authors’ institutions, their postal addresses, e-mail, fax, and telephone numbers).
- Title of the article
- Abstract and keywords (10 pt Times New Roman, single line spacing) 5. Text of the article submitted should be organized as follows: Introduction, Data presentation, Discussion, and Conclusion.
- Bibliographic references list for the paper (see below)
- Captions
- List of abbreviations
All pages should be numbered. No automatic word processing commands (e.g., autonumbering of references, paragraphs, foot- and endnotes, etc.) or macros should be used.
The Editors reserve the right to make necessary revisions and to accept or reject manuscripts. One or two possible referees with their addresses and e-mail accounts should be suggested.
One complete copy of the paper, dated and signed by the principal author, should be submitted. Manuscripts should not exceed 40 000 characters (with spaces), including illustrations. Review articles and informational notes should not exceed 4 pages. Text citations should list the author’s last name, date of publication and page numbers, e.g. (Oliver, 1982: 301). Full bibliographic references should be listed alphabetically at the end of the paper.
Books and Monographs: authors’ names and initials, date of publication, full title of book, place of publication, publisher, and total number of pages.
E.g. Marshak A. The Roots of Civilization. N.Y.: Mc.Graw-Hill, 1972. 413 p.
Journal articles: authors’ names and initials, date of publication, full title of article and journal, volume number, issue number, and page numbers.
E.g. Pearson G. A. First Report of a New Paleoindian Quarry Site on the Isthmus of Panama. Latin American Antiquity. 2003. Vol. 14: 311–322.
Footnotes should be in square brackets within the text and marked with an asterisk.
The approximate location of tables and figures should be indicated in the manuscript. A list of figure captions should be provided at the end of the paper, after the bibliography.
Original line drawings, black-and-white and color photographs, and 35 mm transparencies (slides) are all acceptable. Only high-quality photocopies of illustrations will be accepted. Illustrations should not exceed 190 x 270 mm in size. Color photographs will be mainly published from 60 x 60 mm transparencies. In the name of each illustration file, please type the number of the illustration, and indicate its top.
Tables and graphs may be produced in Microsoft WinWord and ExcelTM with font sizes equal to or exceeding 9-pitch. Each table may not exceed 190 x 270 mm in size. English common names of plants and animals should be supplemented with Latin taxonomic equivalents. Measurements should be given only in the metric system.
