I count my blessings that I was lucky to work alongside of Vitali Epiphanovich Larichev for 10 years. V. E. Larichev was one of the first members of our Institute. He was truly one of the most prominent representatives of the humanities in Akademgorodok. And he can still be considered as such today. V. E. Larichev’s publications on the history of the anthropogenesis are widely known and they are always read as a real “archeological detective novel”. In many respects they anticipated one of the dominant modern “information” trends. These remarkable books implement the following principle to the fullest extent possible: the scientists who love “their science” devoutly always try to do their best to popularize it. For this very reason V. E. Larichev was and still remains one of the best past-masters in telling stories on archeology and “antiquities”. In his stories you can find a clear figurative language and a lucid literary style. References: Andrey P. Borodovsky Meetings with Master (in Memory of V. E. Larichev).
