Abstract
The article discusses the results of an experiment conducted among the first- and fourth-year students through the method of sentence completion. The aim of the study was to identify language means of expressing the images of a teacher and a student respectively in order to confirm or disprove the results of the previous study conducted through the free associations method. The material of the study included 508 sentences, the analysis of which showed that the images of the student and the teacher in the linguistic consciousness of fourth-year students become more multifaceted and diverse in comparison with the corresponding images of the linguistic consciousness of first-year students. The negative evaluation of images increases from the first-year to the fourth-year students, but not dramatically, because positive judgments and attitudes also find more differentiated means of expression in the answers of the undergraduates. In general, both the modality and the emotions become more diverse in the answers of the fourth-year students during the years of study at the university, which indicate a certain development in the images of consciousness under investigation.
